Valentine's 2011

As some of my other blog friends have wrote about, I really love the simplicity of Valentine's Day as well. No real preparation, cooking or hard-core decorating, just making those you love have a little extra special day! Cedric and I celebrated on Saturday, but he did have me some dark chocolate, which was my one request, I just love it! He had class all day and was gone from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. so I spent the day with my two little sweeties. We had already sent valentines in the mail to all of Gaby's valentines (grammy, Grandma Dot, MeMe, and Aunt Janie--these are the special ladies in his life, in addition to his mommy!)..and Gabriel loved receiving cards in the mail and seeing who they were from--he loves getting his own mail. We started off our morning checking out the valentines goodies for E and G. My mom always had us a little something special on Valentine's Day morning and I of course wanted to continue this tradition with my kiddos. Gabriel got a new puzzle, silly putty, and a Spiderman shirt. Izzie got a new shirt and a pink sock monkey. They both got a little box of candy and cards from their daddy. I have discovered that Gabriel absolutely loves chocolate, he ate the entire 5 pieces out of his box before I could stop him! After this, Gaby and me baked some valentine cookies (the precut kind that you just break apart and bake, they are a savior for busy mom's everywhere!) We spent the rest of the day just reading books and playing together. Gabriel really enjoyed a visit from Aunt Rita and was sad when she had to leave. He wants her to come back and play again! Mom stopped by to see us after school, which allowed me to cook a nice dinner for Ceddy. I cooked one of our favorite meals, chicken parmiagana. After dinner, Aunt Janie and Aunt Freddie stopped by to visit and to pick up Gabriel, who went home to spend the night with them. All in all, we had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Here are a few pics:
