UNC 2005 One Shining Moment

Ok, I am just learning how to post a video and I could not think of a better video for everyone to watch! Everytime I hear this song, I cry--and not just because I am hormonal! I cry every year when I hear this, even if UNC is not in the NCAA finals! God, I am ready for basketball season already! Go HEELS!!

How Many More Days of School Do We Have?????

Oh my gosh! I know I should not be complaining, because many of you work year round but.......I am going to anyways, so bear with me......I am SOOOOOO ready for school to end! I have been doing nothing even resembling speech therapy for the last two weeks and it appears that this week and next week will be more of the same....EOG testing last week, 2 days of field day this week( Tuesday and Thursday), and tomorrow I will be re-doing EOGs for those kids who were absent last week...I think I will get to do a little speech Friday morning, but only for 1/2 a day because I have a doctor's appointment that afternoon.....Then next week, I will be doing retesting on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the poor little chaps who did not pass the test the first time around. Sorry to say this, but there are some kids who can take the test 20000 times and still not score proficient, but of course it is not politically correct to say that..you know, No Child Should Be Left Behind! But, next Thursday is the last day of school, so there is a small dim light at the end of the very dark and long tunnel. Ok, I am done venting! And man, do I feel better!
Other than all my complaining, not too much has been going on around here...Cedric went fishing for the first time Saturday night with my brother Zach and Lucy's boyfriend Martin...they didn't catch a thing (besides a good buzz) and Zach was the only one to get a bite....when I saw the hook on Cedric's new pole, I began to understand...the hook was big enough to catch a shark (last time I checked, there were none of these in Lake Norman, but who knows)....It was a "guy's only" event, so Lucy and I were not allowed..we spent an exciting evening watching a hilarious Lifetime movie on binge drinking and then snoozed with Rocky in the living room....note to everyone, I think me and my friend's were "binge drinkers" in college, does that surprise any of you???? Right now though, it is no drinks for me, which has been ok so far....talk to me again during UNC football season, I am sure I will be desperate for a good cold beer by then...Plus I am off caffeine, and for those of you who know me well, you know I love my coffee and diet drinks....so needless to say, I have been dragging....and neglecting my BLOG. I am going to try to do better! I promise! Have a great week, only 6 1/2 more days of school with kids--- I think I might be able to make it!!!!!!

Luau Pics from Saturday Night

The luau Saturday night was a blast...here are some of the pics from it. I made a watermelon fruit basket for the first time ever and thought it turned out pretty dang good... Cynthia, sorry I have no good pics of you to post...the only pictures that I have of you involve your actions after the party in mom and dad's front yard...I kinda figured you might not want everybody looking at those...Let's just say my first night as Designated Driver was interesting! And....I just want to wish Brianne a very HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a wonderful day....next year, we will all be turning 30..we have came a long way from those crazy 18 year olds living in good ol' Parker Dorm.....God we are getting old!!! But I think we are still just as crazy.....

Big News!

Ok, you are probably wondering why I have a picture of an ultrasound on here....We are expecting!!! I am due on January 4th!!! I went to the doctor today for the ultrasound and it was amazing..You can already see the heartbeat!!! I go back on June 1st...of course, Cedric is hoping for a boy, but it doesn't really matter to me...He hopes that we have the first baby at the hospital of the New Year and win a prize!! HA HA! Have a great week! I am going to do some pics from the Hawaiaan Luau Party for Zach and Nicole later on this week, it was a blast!

Wish I Was There.....

Zach and Nicole are finishing up their honeymoon in Hawaii..probably enjoying fruity drinks out of a pineapple right as I am writing this from my desk....wish I was there instead of here :( It is the end of the school year and that means one thing....EOGs and testing! Yuck! I will be at a conference on Autism next Monday-Thursday...let's hope that it is a good one, since I will be there for 4 straight days...then after that, it is back to school on Friday. The next day, May 12th, is the party. Yeah! I can't believe it is almost here, this year has really gone by pretty fast. I am ready for the weekend...we are going on Friday to the tattoo parlor...nothing for me this time, but I think Martin is getting a panther on his upper arm...Not sure about Cedric, it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up getting something, but who knows what? Saturday night, we are having a fish fry/suprise birthday party for my dad's uncle. What you guys got going on this weekend???
