Walls!

This weekend was a biggie as far as our house goes, there are now some walls in the basement! On Saturday we had a crowd- Dad, Zach, Ceddy, Uncle Marshall, Uncle Mark, Ryan, and Marquiz all worked their butts off and laid block on the basement. Zach was the "mudd man", Dad and Uncle Mark/Marshall did the laying, and Ceddy, Mark and Ryan did the grunt work, hauling block and brick down to the level of the basement. Gabriel even got to help and loved having everyone there to play with! Mom helped me out with the kiddos and with keeping everyone fed (yummy Mt Pleasant barbecue). I even did a little manual labor myself, and I have the blisters to prove it! Thank you to everyone, we really appreciate it. It is so cool because now you can really see what things are going to look like!

Everyone relaxing after a hard day's work

This week is going to be wilder and crazier than normal! Cedric had an exam today, then has clinical Tuesday and Wednesday. He is usually up most of the night on Wednesdays. I am heading to Raleigh for a work conference early on Wednesday, then will be returning late Friday afternoon. So Izzie and Gaby are staying with mom and dad Wednesday night and Thursday during the day, thank you mom for taking a day off to help us out...Friday night we have a fun Halloween party to go to with Nicole and Jackson. Saturday we will be working on the house again then having a little bonfire later on that night. Gabriel has been begging to roast hot dogs, so that is what we are going to do! Sunday will be a day of much needed REST, then Halloween is Monday so we will be out trick or treating. That makes me tired just typing all that!

My Fall Cuties!

More Turkeys

Ok, I just saw these in the store at Wal M@rt this week and of course I am wanting them badly...Not that I even have a Thanksgiving Dinner at my house, we are always at other family members..And honestly, I usually have my Christmas stuff out by Thanksgiving.....but still....Wouldn't these look really cute on my table next year? And they are very reasonably priced too? What is it with me and turkeys?

We have a driveway!

Footings have been poured!

Our driveway is in!

Coming Right Along

Things have happened very quickly at our new house! This past weekend Dad, Ceddy, and Zach laid the house off. The footings were dug on Monday and poured on Tuesday! The driveway was also put in on Tuesday and it looks awesome! We have a circle drive which makes for lots of parking and it will be very easy to get in and out of! And they are going to start laying block in the basement on Saturday! SO EXCITED! I have been trying to post some pics of what things are looking like, but my computer is NOT COOPERATING. Will try again later :(

Gaby's Room Preview

Here is a preview of what Gabriel's room in our new house will be...He is OBSESSED with super heroes, he wants to BE a super hero and has even asked us "if a spider bites me, will I turn into Spider Man?"...So he is having a Marv@l superheroes room! We found this awesome comforter set that has all his favorites..he is going to keep the bunk beds that he has now.

We are painting his room a silvery grey, with almost a bit of metallic look to it. We found these awesome large wall stickers to decorate with...I love these things because they peel off without leaving any damage. Much better than putting up a border that is heck to remove. I am having so much fun picking out things, can you tell?

Fall Favorites

I love fall. I really think it might be my favorite time of year. From October through New Years there is just so much fun stuff going on. Here are a few things that I am LOVING this fall.

Fall would not be fall without Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starb&cks! I have only had one so far (because they are $5) but let me tell you, it was worth every cent. Just plain delicious, like crack in a cup if you ask me. If you have not indulged in one yet, do it and do it fast...the Christmas flavors will be out before you know it!

Creamy pumpkin scent from Bath and B%dt W*rks...I think this is the best scent they have ever created...It is like fall in a bottle...I want my whole house to smell like this. YUM. Get some!

I finally decided to try Greek yogurt...I have been wondering what all the fuss was about and finally decided to give it a try. LOVE IT. Have been having it for breakfast, it has way more protein than regular yogurt and is more sour. Slightly more calories than my usual yougurt and more expensive of course...I need to make a trip to Ald* to try their brand, a friend told me it is good and under a dollar per cup. I am just waiting for Wal-M@rt to make their version of it.

I have been drooling over this turkey at B@lk since I saw it 6 weeks ago or so...it is half price now for $32 which is not bad...but I am really hoping to find it after Thanksgiving for a big discount..so pretty. I have a turkey addiction, can't explain it but I just love them. I already have one gorgeous cream/brown turkey cookie jar that I use as my centerpiece, but I know I can find somewhere for this one to go too!

Doors

And here are our door handles, just love them too!!!!

Plumbing

We met with the plumbing guys on Monday to pick out our faucets, tubs, toilets, etc...OMG it is so much fun to look at all this stuff and dream about our new house...So exciting! It was very easy to make our pics, we (I) pretty much knew what we(I) wanted, here are a few picks of what we went with:

Our bath faucet

Kid's bath faucet

Kitchen faucet

Ceddy got his bathroom wish in getting a rain-sprinkle shower head to go in the center of the shower! And we will have a two-person tub in the bathroom (now if we could just find the time to use it!) I think I am most excited about the fact that we will have more than 1 toilet to use, it is hard having only 1 for all of us!!!!

Bottlecaps

Here is a sampling of some of my stuff:

Finished bottlecaps are great and so versatile..I can use them to make hair clippies, magnets, bookmarks and to go on badge clips....Just love them. Basically I charge the regular price of the item (for ex: 1.49 for a hair clippie, $4 for a bookmark) plus the price of the graphic if it is something I don't have, If I already have the graphic, and I have a ton..there is no additional charge...Graphics on et&y usually run from 1.50-2.00....SO you can end up with a totally custom clip for around 3.00...these are great to do for party favors at a themed birthday party...hair clippies for the little girls and you could do magnets for boys...The badge clips are awesome for anyone that has to wear their badge to work...I can even do these with velcro so you can change out your bottlecap! Badge clips are $4 for a regular, $5 for an alligator clip one that rotates..then I sell lanyards for $1 and can even do business card holders on a lanyard for $1 more, I did this for MeMe and it turned out awesome...
Fun!

Breather

I need one! Things here are always nuts, but it seems like it has been even crazier than usual these past few weeks and I have just been trying to keep my head above water...work, kiddos, laundry, cooking dinner, trying to keep the house un-nasty are just a tad more than we can handle...Ceddy's nursing school is kicking all of our AS@ES...I know it has to be worse for Cedric who is actually doing the work, but I am just sick of it too...Thank goodness this is the last sememster...Graduation Date=December 16th. Too tired to write full sentences, going with bullets :)

* Nicole is being induced at 6:30 this morning, cannot wait to meet my new nephew Wyatt!!!!!

* Cleveland County Fair tomorrow night, Gabriel just loves this and I hope there will be a little something Izzie can ride too...definitely the carousel! Ready for some good fair food and fun. Miss the state fair in Raleigh...Laura, when our kids are a little older, I am bringing my kiddos down and letting you give them the fair tour, complete with mini-donuts and Al's French Fries!

* Cedric is off Monday and Tuesday for fall break. We thought about going to the beach but decided that would be more work than rest.

* Work has been BUSY...two conferences to attend this month and not enough time (or miles allowed on the car) to get all my other stuff done..I am ready for the time from about Thanksgiving through New Years when things slow down a bit.

* The house! The lot is getting prepped this week, ie. stumps removed, smoothed out, etc...It looks awesome and I am going to go shoot some pics today....SO EXCITED!

* Crafting-My hair clippie/paci clippie/badge holders are selling very well on my et&y site...I am setting up a table at a fall craft fair at our local high school on November 3rd from 4-8 so please come out and take a look at what I have! I am excited about this because it will hopefully mean more business for me, but it is also a lot of work because I have to get a lot of stuff made b/w now and then...usually my stuff is just custom and I make it after people order it...but it is fun and I have so many cute new things for the holidays! My newest thing is bottleclips (I will do a post on these later) but they are great and allow me to do any kind of custom graphics that people want (teams, character, initials, etc..)

* Oh, I have finally tried Greek yogurt and I LOVE IT...Have been eating it for breakfast every day this week!

Happy Friday everyone :)
