Just wanted to let everyone know that Luke has made it thorough his open heart surgery, is off by-pass, and his heart is beating on his own!!!!! Blood is flowing through the artery that had to be worked on!!!!!! Everything looks very good but please continue to keep Luke and his family in your prayers!!!!

This and That

*I am SO glad it is the weekend, and thanks to our crazy school calendar, I have a 3 Day weekend! Everyone else in the free world was off this past Monday for President's Day, but not us....we are off this Monday, not sure what the occasion is, but I am looking forward to the day off! No big plans, just going to spend the whole day with Cedric and Gabriel, something we don't get to do very often. I always enjoy my Sunday more when I don't have to work on Monday, on a normal week, I get a feeling of doom around 5 or so, knowing it is back to the old grind the next morning.

* I went shopping last night BY MYSELF (thank you mom and dad) and finally have some new clothes that fit! I have lost most of my pregnancy weight and am about five pounds over what I was when I got pregnant, but MAN, none of my old pants fit! I think my weight has all re-adjusted!! I know I still need to lose some weight but at least now I can look good in my new clothes while I try to lose some...

*Speaking of shopping, I LOVE B@LK's. I got some really great deals last night...they had things marked down to $8.98 and then everything clearance was an additional 50% off...I got some great things for $4 and $5!!!!

*We are having a luau at school this coming Friday! I have a new blue mu-mu to wear, thanks to my friend at school Eileen! I am going to make a big fruit hat like the Chiquita Banana lady to complete the outfit! I have all the fake fruit and the hat base, now I just need to glue it all together...Don't worry, I will post pics of me in full costume!

*We are going out tonight to celebrate Mease's birthday...I am SO excited about this...pizza from UT's and then some cake from Martha (the lady who used to work at Shirley's) YUM!

Valentines and Baby Jackson Pics!

We have had a fun and busy weekend....went to visit Jackson Friday night and again on Saturday, headed to the Chicken Pie Benefit for Baby Luke and the baby shower for Baby Girl Sigmon today, and celebrated Valentines Day in between all of that! Gabriel had a great 2nd Valentines, he got candy and a balloon from dadddy-he LOVES balloons! He got a cupid Mr Potato Head and heart pez dispenser from mommy, new shorts and shoes from Grammy and Papaw, and a new UNC sippy cup and lots of books from Aunt Janie. He LOVES chocolate and candy hearts too! Here are some new pics, I know everyone is wanting to see more pics of Jackson, he is a cutie pie!!!! :

The Petester

My cousin's husband passed away this week after battling a mysterious neurological disorder for 2 1/2 years. Pete was absolutely THE perfect man for Melissa, I knew that the first time I met him. Same outgoing personality, same crazy sense of humor...he loved the Smurfs and she loves Snoopy.....Heck, they even look alike! Melissa is the perfect woman for Pete as well, she has been the bravest thing through his illness and never stopped fighting for him. I am amazed by her strength and by her love. Pete loved life, people, and most of all, Melissa, who he called Sweetie. Melissa is now an expert on Braves baseball due to Pete! He had the ability to make you feel like you were his favorite person in the world and he always was glad to see you. He loved my dog Rocky and Rocky loved him. They had a really special bond, especially over the last year. I believe animals have a special sense about people and I just think he sensed something sweet in Pete. He would sit by his side or on his lap as long as Pete wanted him to. I have had a lot of good times with Pete that I will never forget. From taking him shopping this past summer at Old Tyme Pottery, to eating sushi and spicy Thai food together, to talking sports (GO HEELS) and hanging with him at the pool. We are really going to miss you Pete.

Jackson Clyde

Jackson was born tonight at 9:50 PM! He weighs 8 lbs, 10 ounces and is 21 inches long! Mom and baby are both doing great! I am officially an aunt!!!!! Here are a few pics:

My How Things Change in A YEAR!

Here is Gabriel at this time last year, celebrating the Super Bowl....we watched it over at mom and dad's, also with Zach, Nicole, Lucy, and Martin. We did the same thing again this year, but boy, Gabriel sure was A LOT different. He pretty much slept through the whole game last year, this year...not so much!







And here is this year.....notice Rocky is getting a little love from Martin, he needs it, I think he feels a little demoted!

Happy 31st Birthday to my bestest friend, Cynthia! We have been friends since we were 10 and we have had a LOT of good times in those 21 years (and lots of drinks too!) Wish I could be there today to celebrate your birthday (and the Super Bowl) with you. Love ya babe!
