Tarheel Born, Tarheel Bred!

What a great birthday weekend, topped off by a Carolina Victory over Oklahoma and their golden boy, Blake Griffin. I am SO sick of hearing his name, maybe we won't have to anymore since he and his team are headed back to Oklahoma...I'm not saying that he is not a good athlete, because he is. But my gosh, everytime anyone in blue even got anywhere near him, a foul was called, it was ridiculous...He doesn't hustle and never made an outside shot at all....And he missed a BUNCH of free throws...Say what you want about him, but I will take Tyler Hansbrough ANYDAY over him! Okay, enough about that, I am going to celebrate this victory and get myself ready for the FINAL FOUR!!!!!!! Here are a few pics of our weekend....

My Lucky Shirt-I have worn it every game of the tournament and have not washed it yet! Not washing it until after we win it all!

The Big 3-1

Well, today is my birthday...It is only 7:30 or so, but it has already been great so far! Mom took me shopping yesterday and we had a blast! We realized it had been a REALLY long time since we had got to shop without baby G. When we take him, it is a big rush, because he will only behave for so long. He has never been a big fan of the stroller and now that he can walk, he HATES it. So yesterday, we got to take our time, try on lots of stuff and just had fun, Thanks mom!

This morning, Cedric surprised me with gorgeous flowers and my gifts set up on the dining room table....He got me 2 new water bottles, which I have really been wanting. Since we are on this health kick, I have been drinking tons of water and my water bottle always spills all over me when I drink out of it..These 2 new ones are great! He also got me a beautiful set of blue topaz jewelry, the earrings, slide, and bracelet...LOVE THEM, he has such good taste!!!!

Tonight, mom and dad are taking us out for my birthday dinner. No cake though, but that is ok with me. The diet is going really well, we have been cooking all kinds of interesting, healthy things. Tofu, asparagus, lots of spinach, flax seed cereal, and the list goes on and on...I already feel SO much better and I think I have even lost a little weight. I will keep you posted.

One more thing.....GO HEELS!!!! Now if we can just beat Oklahoma tomorrow we will be on to the Final Four in Detroit....I am buying a t-shirt if we make it...Last year I didn't buy a final four shirt and I think it was bad karma and that is why we lost. I bought a final four tee in 2005 when we won it all....This year, I am not chancing it!

Sunday blahs

Happy Birthday wishes to both my mom and dad!!! I won't tell you how old they are, just that he is 3 years older. Also Happy Anniversary to my Uncle Mitchell and Aunt Rita (Mease's parents) :)

I hate Sunday afternoons, around this time of day I always just start dreading getting up on Monday to go to work...Hopefully this will change after I start my new job on 4/20, maybe I won't hate Sundays so bad....Found out I am getting a lap-top with wireless card, cell phone, and PDA for my new job (please oh please let it be a blackberry!!!!) Not to mention my state car, which I just know is going to be a white Ford Taurus...I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Prius, those energy efficient hybrids, I think they are so ugly that they are cute!

Let's see...Gabriel is feeling a LOT better, thank you all for the get-well wishes! He is still not eating much at all and looks SKINNY (his diapers are loose), but he is drinking lots and hopefully his appetite will pick back up soon. He has been playing outside some today, riding the tractor with dad, and I can tell he is LOVING this warm weather. The boy loves to be outside as much as we will let him, which makes me very happy. I don't want him to be one of those lazy kids who only wants to stay inside and play video games.

Speaking of appetites, I hope mine takes some advice from his....Mom, dad, Cedric and me are turning over a healthy leaf tomorrow...I just got back from the grocery store where I stocked up on chicken, tuna, veggies, fruits, etc....no wine or beer, not a lot of carbs, just the good stuff like brown rice, WW bread, etc. Tonight I guess I will have to finish off a bottle of white zin, since I can't have it for awhile....We have all gotten too fat, and I am sick of not being able to wear a whole closet full of cute clothes...It is just ridiculous that probably 10 pounds or so is keeping me from wearing almost everything I own....something has got to give...I think I am FINALLY ready to do something about it....I am hoping to join the gym once I get settled into the new job, that should help too, considering I really haven't exercised since Gabriel was born...actually even before that...I was going to the gym up until October or so when I was pregnant but then the swelling began...so it has been a LONG LONG time.....I will keep you posted on our progress :)

Heels advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and will play Gonzaga next to make it to the "ELITE EIGHT"...I am really hoping this is our year, I want Tyler Hansbrough to get his NCAA championship so bad, he is my all time favorite Tarheel! I got a new old ram tee-shirt at Dick's this weekend, it is so cute and I have decided it is my good luck tee, I am going to keep wearing it for each UNC game....

My birthday is next Saturday...mom and I are off on Friday and are going to spend the day doing a little birthday shopping, I can't wait!

Alright, I am going outside to enjoy this beautiful afternoon!

Home again

Well I at home again today with Gabriel. Cedric and I took him back to the doctor this morning because his cough has gotten much worse, not better. They tested him and he has rsv and an ear infection in his left ear. Doc said rsv is a virus that can take four to six weeks to clear up, sounds like fun doesn't it????? He has lost 3 pounds in 2 days so we are supposed to give him this nutritional drink for kids for calories, I hope he will drink it! Guess we will get back in our pjs and watch a little basketball this afternoon, sounds pretty good to me!

Here You Go......

Fun in Bunn

I am in Bunn visiting La La and of course I am up early while everyone else sleeps in...it happens every time I go anywhere, I am an early riser and can't sleep in, even when I want to! Today would be the perfect day to sleep in...no baby to change or feed, no dog to let out for potty time, no cleaning that needs to be done because I am not at home......BUT OF COURSE I WAKE UP AT 8:00......which I guess is sleeping in for me because I usually am up at 6........So I am playing on the Internet and decided to catch up on some blogging....Got into town yesterday afternoon and went to Laura's shower at Crystal's house. We had a great time, lots of yummy food and some of the best punch I have ever had (except for that red punch at your wedding Susan, that is still my all time favorite...Laura and I kept sneaking back to get more and more of it...I would still like that recipe......You guys know I love punch and punch bowls!!!!). But I digress....Laura and Travis got TONS of great baby gifts and last night we opened them all up and worked on setting things up in the nursery....I had a few glasses of wine while doing this, but still managed to be helpful, I even successfully put together the Diaper Genie!!!! I have lots of pics of the nursery and will post them on my blog, since La La has REALLY been neglecting hers.....I would post them now but I cannot figure out where the USB port is on this computer :()

Oh, one more thing...I am very BUMMED that the Heels got beat yesterday but am hoping they make a better showing in the NCAAs....and that Ty is back....remember, we were playing without the ACC player of the year......

As luck would have it....

The heels squeaked by v tech today...let's hope they play better tomorrow!

YAWN!!!!!!!

I am SOOOO tired this week, I guess it is from the time change this past weekend. All I can do is yawn and I just wanted to crawl under my table and sleep at work all day today...Don't worry, I didn't do this, but I REALLY wanted to. It has been a very busy week. After work on Monday, I had to travel to Morganton to take a drug test for my new job....Don't worry, of course I passed, but I did sort of feel like a criminal doing it. They lock your purse up in a locker, check your pockets, and of course you can't flush the toilet. It was weird and I felt worried that something would show up, even though I know I don't do any drugs :)

On Tuesday, Cedric and I took Gabriel to get his Easter pics made. He did a great job and they are adorable, I get to pick them up in 2 weeks, don't worry, I will post! After that, we had dinner out and then went to visit Gabriel's new cousin, Nola Saige, previously known as "baby girl"! She was born late Sunday night, actually very early Monday morning. She is beautiful, with tons of glossy black hair and full lips, my uncle is calling her Angelina Jolie :) She is just precious and both Nola and her mom Amy are doing great and are resting at home.

I am really looking forward to this weekend....I will be traveling to the Raleigh area for a baby shower for Laura and Baby T. I cannot wait to see her and also am excited about just having some grown-up time. I don't think I have been on a road-trip alone since before Gabriel was born. Cedric is taking an exam to try and join the Charlotte Fire Department on Saturday. I will spend the night with Laura and Travis and then head home on Sunday. Should be a fun fun weekend and hopefully the Heels will cooperate and win the ACC torney....

For Susan :)

Here is a pic of my new gadget...It is just like an iPod in that you can store music and videos on it, but it also a web browser, so you can get on the internet with it anywhere there is wi-fi---for free! You don't have to pay for any kind of service like with a Blackberry....It has a touch screen and is so easy to use! You can download all kinds of cool applications and games, many of which are completely free. I did splurge and buy Pac Man, which was a whopping $5! I love this thing. I have a cool red case for it and cute red earbuds too!

J O B !!!!

Got myself a new job, heard the good news on Friday and I put in my resignation yesterday....My last day will be April 9th, the Thursday before Good Friday. I will be off that week for spring break, then will begin my new position on April 20th. I will be working as a Speech Language Pathology consultant for the state of NC, there are only 5 of these in the whole state! I am SOOOOOO excited because I will be working out of a home office...That's right, no more early morning duty out in the cold at school, freezing my buns off while opening car doors for all the little kiddies for 45 minutes, 2 times per week! No more 10+ page IEPs to write, no more Medicaid billing, and best of all, I can wear my DAMN Rainbows all day, every day!!!!!!!! No more crazy EC directors, superintendants, etc. No more ridiculous EC paperwork to worry about, no more learning new stuff, only to learn something different a few weeks later..... I am my own boss and I make my own schedule! Ok, I know this sounds too good to be true, and I am sure it probably is, but it is a change and I NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**** Disclaimer*********
ps- I will miss MANY of the people who I work with, so many of them are just GREAT! It is not my school or the people that I don't like, just the state of public schools right now :)
