Lazy Days of Summer.....

Here is how Rocky has spent the majority of his days so far this summer

Ok, I admit it...I have had some nap times too, but on the whole, I have been pretty busy...last week was my first full week off from work....let's see...worked out three times and also attended my first belly dancing class, which was awesome..They are doing 2 trial classes at my gym to see if there is enough interest for a permanent class...The 2nd class is this Wednesday at 6:00, I can't wait...we even got to wear these hip scarves with gold coins sewn onto them, when you shook your hips, they jingled! Also last week, I accomplished a few things off of my summer list...mom and I took tons of books to this used book store...we both got store credits and I got five new summer reads...I have already read one of them, in 2 days :)

Cedric and I began cleaning out the room that is going to be the nursery...we moved the book case out of there into the hallway and figured out where we are going to put the crib..we picked out furniture that we like but have not ordered it yet (we have decided on natural wood, not white..we decided we like it better)...I also bought a quilt for the baby's bedding..it is khaki and white with small moons and stars...very neutral..the stuff that goes with it has blue for boys/pink for girls. It is really the only thing I have seen that I liked..Much of the stuff for babies is just too themed and tacky for me. This is very understated and I love it!! Robin (my cousin Chris' wife) also stopped by with an awesome gift for us...a UNC diaper bag..it is navy with the old and new rams all over it..I will have to take a pic of it, it is so cute!!! Can't wait to use it!

What else??? I have been helping mom take down her wallpaper in the bathroom...God, we have a steamer to use but it is still a pain in the you-know-what...we almost have it finished, then she will be painting it...lucky for me I am pregnant, so I don't get to help out with that. Cedric had to work Friday night, so I went out to dinner with my parents, Zach and Nicole, and Aunt Janie...Saturday night we had a cookout at our house and watched UNC get beat and then watched the UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale...much beter than the stupid baseball game..I just do not like baseball, even if it is UNC playing... I am getting a haircut tomorrow, thank god, it has been 8 weeks I think, my hair looks awful. I have my next doctor's appointment on Friday and after that, we (rocky and me--ceddy has to work) are headed to Raleigh to hang out with Cynthia and Laura--Rocky will get to catch up with his big buddies Max and Romeo...I haven't seen them in awhile, and I am very excited! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as I am...I just don't want it to go by too fast, going back to work sucks!!

Hilton Head

Our trip to Hilton Head was a blast...we headed down on Wednesday and checked in..Hilton Head is very nice, it is filled with trees everywhere, much different than Myrtle Beach....That night, we went out to a great Mexican restaurant. Thursday, we rented bikes and went for a long ride on the beach...The beach was beautiful but the water was filled with some brown reed-type plants, it was weird :) We loved riding our bikes and went for another ride Friday morning...Hit the outlets on our way out that afternoon...It was a very RELAXING three days, which we both needed...Here are some pics from the trip...

Let the Good Times Roll!!!

Today was the last day at work thank goodness and I am ready to let the summer fun begin! We are leaving in the morning to spend a few days at Hilton Head, be sure to check back in a few days for pix of our trip. We will be back in time to spend Father's Day with my dad, we are getting him the "Margarator", which makes frozen margaritas and other fruity frozen drinks. Guess mine will have to be alcohol free this summer :)

Summertime Goals for Me!

Ok, this time next week I will be getting ready for my last day of work for a good while (my last day is next Tuesday)...with that being said, here are the things I hope to accomplish this summer...since drinking is out for me this summer, I should be able to get most of these done :)

1) Go to the gym 3-4 times per week. I have not been doing very good on this one lately...I am just SOOO tired after work..but since I won't be working, I have no excuse!
2) Clean out the den/study that is going to be the nursery. I can't start decorating until I know what I have in this belly and that won't be until the end of summer...but I can get the room ready to become a nursery.
3) Have a yard sale to get rid of some of the junk I am cleaning out! Take the leftovers to Goodwill.
4) Go through all our books (and we have tons)...Find a good place to store the keepers and take the rest to a book store or Goodwill.
5) Read at least 1 book per week.
6) Organize the upstairs into something more manageable...you should see it right now, it is BAD.
7) Pick out a crib and furniture for the baby room (white I think is what I want, regardless of whether it is a boy or girl)
8) Visit the nearest IKEA store, which is in Virginia (something I have been dying to do for a loooong time now)
9) Have a ton of fun!!! This one shouldn't be too hard to accomplish!!!
10) One more, make some california rolls...I can't make anything with raw fish, but I have been dying to try making some rolls, I made them in grad school and they turned out great!

This is all I have for now, I think that is plenty to keep me semi-busy...it is vacation, of course I have to catch up on all the trashy daytime TV too!! I'll let ya know how I did on this list come August!

New Baby Pic

Here is the latest baby pic...we had a doctor's appointment on Friday...lots of bloodwork and another ultrasound..everything is looking great. The baby was moving all around during the ultrasound, it was soo cool...can't feel it yet because it is too small, but it won't be long... They moved my due date up 2 days, now it is January 2nd...getting closer and closer to New Year's....I hate to even think about how I am going to be looking come Christmas time this year. I am in my 9th week. We will be finding out what the baby is between 18 and 20 weeks, I can't wait!!!
