My Birthday is March 28th....

Ok, look at this cake!!! You guys know I am crazy for Boston Terriers, this is a cake made to look just like one...I don't think I could eat this though, it looks too much like little Rocky :)

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day....I am at work, of course it will be CRAZY here at school today...candy, cookies, parties, flowers, You name it, someone has it here at school today. A year ago today, Cedric and I were on our honeymoon..we visited Labadee, a private island and it was raining like crazy. I would LOVE to be back there right now...but...off to do some speech therapy!!

Well, I can't believe it is time for our 1st Anniversary already, and boy did Cedric surprise me! He booked a mountain cabin for a long weekend, but didn't let me in on the secret until Thursday afterschool, through an anonymous letter in the mail...I packed that night and we set out Friday right after school for Bryson City, NC. He even set it up for me to be out of school on Monday, because we were staying through Monday morning! And, we got to bring Rocky along for the trip. We spent a very relaxing weekend lounging around, hanging out in the hot tub, and enjoying the gorgeous view. Bryson City is WAY country, we thought we were living in the country in Terrell!! We ended up having our anniversary meal at a Ryan's Steakhouse, sort of a buffet type, like Golden Corral...not too romantic, but we didn't even care!!!

Check out some of these pictures to see what a great time we had. Needless to say, I did not want to come back to reality on Monday! It was so good to get to spend an entire weekend together, which is very rare for us, since Cedric works on the weekends when I am off. The first year has been wonderful and I look forward to many many more together :) We hope to return up to Bryson City this summer, hopefully with some of you guys!!

SNOW DAY!!!

Well, we finally got a little snow around here, but it was not nearly as much as I was hoping for! I was up at 5:00 checking the news, even though it was doing nothing at our house...But by 5:30, the news I was hoping for popped up on the screen---Newton Conover Schools, Closed for Students and Faculty!!!! Thank goodness, not even an optional teacher workday, school was completely closed!!!! It started snowing around 6:00 and when we went out for breakfast, the ground was looking white...But...by the time we got back, the snow had turned to sleet/rain and washed away all the white...I didn't even get to take a good picture of our house in the snow...By the afternoon, everything had stopped.....Cedric and I spent the day being lazy, which was great, b/c we never are off on the same days...So the snow day was good, but I really was hoping for tons of snow, the kind where you can go sledding, build a snowman, etc....Maybe later on this month....If it is not going to snow again, then I am just ready for SPRING!!!!
Of course, we are back to school today, without even a 2 hour delay....YUCK!! But at least it is Friday, so there is a light at the end of this tunnel :)
