WTF
One more thing....I just got back my lab work results from the doc. My cholesterol has gone from 226 to 253, even though I have lost 20 pounds. I am pissed! I guess I was healthier when I was fatter....WTF???????????????????? Makes me just want to eat like a big pig!
SNOW DAY!
We got a good bit of snow last night, probably 6-8 inches or so! I really was not wanting it to snow (because we were supposed to go to the circus tonight), but the snow is pretty and we have had a fun day! We started out at Butcher Boys for breakfast, then headed over to Zach, Nicole, and Jackson's house. We played out in the snow for a little, but it was still snowing/sleeting and was VERY cold! After that, we went back to our house for a little nap, and now we are all over at mom and dad's. We decided to all spend the night over here (my family, Zach's family, and mom and dad!). We had a yummy spaghetti dinner and now we are just hanging out downstairs. Jackson and Gabriel have just been running wild all over the place. We are hoping to get to build a snowman and maybe do a little sledding tomorrow! I will post pics later, stay warm everyone!

A Few of My Favorite Things
Here are a few things I am LOVING right now....
Laughing Cow Light Spreadable Cheese Wedges-these are so good on apple slices, on Arnolds WW bread thins, or inside of a turkey burger (put inside when raw and then they melt when you grill them, a little cheesy surprise when you bite!).
Nick and Nora PJ Pants-I am ADDICTED to these and try to stay out of the PJ section and Target so I don't buy more! However, since I do work from home many days, I feel they can be considered part of my work wardrobe!
Little People Toys-I just love these and I want ALL of them! Gaby got the carnival set and the firestation and I think I like playing with them more than he does! Just love these! I am DYING for the nativity!
IKEA-God I love this store. We went on Monday and got Gabriel a new oak dresser, to the tune of $129! Since it was so cheap, I just had to get a few things for us (nightstand and coffee table). This store for me is like a more expensive Dollar Tree. You know how when you go to the dollar store and convince yourself to buy things you may or may not need because "its only a dollar". This is kind of what I do in IKEA. I got a new oven mitt ($1), magnifying mirror for bathroom ($4.99), and 2 new dish brushes with suction on the bottom ($1 each). Oh and a huge golf umbrella to keep in my car ($3.99) and yes it is blue and yellow with IKEA on it, but who cares???
UNC Rainbow flip-flops- I got these from Aunt Janie for Christmas in brown and also the white pair and I am SOOO excited about them. It was finally warm enough (sort-of) for flip flops yesterday and I tried out the white pair. So comfy and cute!!!!
I will wear the brown pair today since it is going to be in the 60s again! I am soooo glad I don't work at Shuford Elem anymore, since they out-lawed Rainbows a few years back. I did get to wear them when I was pregnant because my feet were so swollen (think big fat sausages), but I had to have a doctor's note. Now I can wear them any damn day I please, so take that Dr. Redmond!
Hot tea- This is my new thing to drink. I have Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride (thanks for the suggestion MeMe) and Gingerbread Spice. Love these! I put 2 sweeteners in and they are SOOO good, and CALORIE FREE!!!!

Oh and guess what! I made my 10% goal last night at WW! YIPPEEE!!!!!!

Well, Gabriel turned 2 yesterday and had his party on Saturday. Unfortunately, Cedric and I were both sick as DOGS with the stomach virus that Gabriel had earlier in the week. We had to miss the party, we could not even get out of bed until around 5 or so, and then we just moved from the bedroom to the living room, we needed a change of scenery! Luckily, my mom and dad along with Aunt Janie, came to the rescue and had the party without us! Thank you guys SO much for all the decorating, cleaning up, and hauling of the gifts, we appreciate it so much and without you, we would have had to cancel. We got to celebrate with Gabriel yesterday and we still have some cake left to eat (not that I am sure I will ever eat anything besides chicken noodle and crackers EVER again!)....I am feeling much better today, but still not much of an appetite. But hey, at least I should have a good weigh-in at Weight Watchers tomorrow! I am working on pics from the party and will do a post soon with them. Thanks so much to mom and Nicole for taking lots of pics for me. And thanks to everyone who came to the party for all your love and the great gifts to Gabriel. He is one very loved little boy!

Two Years and Counting
I can not believe that Gabriel will be turning TWO this Sunday! It seems just like yesterday that we were bringing him home for the first time. Things have really changed since this time last year. He is talking not in words anymore, but in complete sentences. He is not just walking, but running ALL over the place, all the time! He is riding first his big wheel in April, his John Deere motorized tractor in Jule, then a tricycle in November, and now a REAL bike, complete with training wheels! He has opinions about EVERYTHING, what he wants to eat, drink, do, and wear! Here are some of the things that I love the most about him:
* His feet and hands-I think they are just the cutest things on earth (except for his little brown butt cheeks!)
* How snuggly he is in the mornings, he will sometimes say "Lay down with me mommy" and this melts my heart!
* How much he loves his family and wants to have everyone that is special to him together ALL the time
* His vocabulary-honestly he amazes me at times
*His speech and language errors (that I don't want to correct right now, even though I am a speech language pathologist by trade) For example "gaboons" = "balloons", "peas" = "please", "Miss No" = "Miss Snow", etc. And I love when he says "I Are..." instead of "I am".
* The way that he loves books! He squeals with delight when he gets new books and loves to read, all the time!
*The fact that he loves to go to church and is now going to the front during the children's time
*The way he is singing something, ALL the time! The kid loves music and I know that makes his daddy happy too.
* I love that he is not into TV at all, he could care less about it.
* His imagination and creativity (right now he is always pretending to saw with a toy and says he is building a house--just like his Papaw and Unkie Zach)!!!
Basically I love everything about this boy!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Day 2009
Our Christmas Day started EARLY! After finally getting Gaby to bed after midnight, we got up at 6:15 to see if Santa had made a stop at our house. We had to poke and prod Gabriel to get him up, but once he saw his new big boy bike, he was all smiles! We played with all his new stuff for awhile and then Ceddy and I opened our gifts for each other. We decided this year to get bikes, which we have been wanting for a LONG time. We got a great deal on these the day after Thanksgiving. So we just did stocking stuffers for each other, sort of :) I got a new PAND*RA bracelet in my stocking, which I have been DYING for! Also got this PINK perfume from B and B which smells sooo good, a UNC badge holder for my work badge (which maybe I will start wearing now) and lots of other goodies. I love stockings! I also got a charm to go on my bracelet from Gabriel. It says "I LOVE MY MOM" and I just love it! Cedric got a Dallas Cowboys football from Gabriel, which he helped me pick out at his favorite store, TARG*T. He just loves to go there!
We stayed in our pajamas (notice my red union suit in the pics, I hope to convince Ceddy and Gaby to wear them next year!) and headed over to mom and dad's to open presents there. This is always so much fun and we all got way too much stuff as usual. It was so fun to see Jackson enjoy his first Christmas morning, I can't wait until next year when he will be Gaby's age and will be able to rip into presents on his own! We said we were cutting back this year, but it sure didn't feel like it. I got awesome new cowboy boots that I have been wanting for a LONG time. And a new red watch (now I have another accessory to coordinate with all my red shoes!)....Gabriel got John DEE*E boots, a stick bull to ride, and a gun/cowboy hat set from Zach and Nicole. When you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, he says either a cowboy or a bull rider, depending on the day. I love this and wonder where this country boy in him came from?? Ceddy does have cowboy boots too though and he loves biggish belt buckles...maybe a combination from both of us....Gaby even has me dressing in a JD sweatshirt these days, who would have ever predicted that? We finished up with stockings and surprised mom and dad with stockings of their own this year. After that, it was breakfast and then we headed home to shower and get ready to go to Grandma Dot's for lunch.
At Grandma Dot's, we open presents first around 11ish, then we eat lunch. This was the 2nd year that we did sandwiches and appetizers instead of the traditional turkey, casseroles, etc. and I think this is great. You don't feel so sick after eating so much. Shanda made this delicious avocado ranch dip that I could not stop eating, I am going to try and recreate it for Gabriel's birthday party (and what do you know, it is green and will match the JD color scheme!). After visiting until around 3 or so, we got back in the car and headed to Gastonia to have Christmas with Ceddy's family.
This year Ceddy's family celebrated at Aunt Sherrie's house. Everyone was there except his sister who lives in New York. The menu was untraditional as well, lasagna and salad. I was still stuffed for lunch, so I made a salad. I did try the lasagna and of course it was GREAT. His family can cook, let me tell ya. I did miss the usual collard greens though :) We had a great time there and Gabriel got some awesome gifts, a huge giant floor pillow with guess what? A JD tractor on it! He loves it and brings it in to the living room to watch "TB" (TV)...not that he actually will sit still to watch TV but still he needs his pillow!
One last stop, Aunt Janie's...Gabriel slept in the car and when we carried him in to the loud house he did not even wake up! He napped for probably an hour or so and then got his second wind! We ended up staying until 10ish hanging out, trying to wear him out so he would go to bed when we got home.
All in all, we had a WONDERFUL day spent with our families! Thank you to everyone for all of Gabriel's wonderful gifts. There is nothing the boy could possibly want or need, he is SPOILED rotten by you guys! We are so lucky to have such wonderful big, fun families nearby to share our holidays with. Love to everyone and hope everyone has a very blessed 2010!
