Alright, here goes my bulleted message for the week:
* Belated birthday wishes to my cousin Mease, who turned the big 3-0 on Sunday.....she made her birthday seem very fun, maybe when I turn 30 in March it won't be so bad :) Happy Birthday Melissa!!!
*Gosh, it is SO yucky here today...It stormed all morning, and I do mean stormed, complete with thunder and lightning! Isn't there something about when it thunders in the winter, it means it is going to snow???? Honestly, I really hope not, I am ready for SPRING!!!!! Flowers and warm weather and flip-flops and all that kind of stuff....
*Gabriel and I spent the morning with Aunt Janie. She is recovering from her surgery and doing great so far. We will be back with her again tomorrow afternoon. He is sacked out in his car seat....You are wondering, why the car seat??? Am I a bad mom for just letting him sleep in it??? I knew if I moved him to his bed when we got in that he would just wake up! He has been asleep in it for 1 1/2 hours now!
*We had our baby shower for Gabriel at my school last Friday. It was so much fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone from work. Not that I am ready to go back, but it was nice to catch up with them and I even got to see a few of my students who said that they REALLY miss me :) I miss them too, well at least some of them! The cake at the shower was the best I have had in a LONG time...it had a raspberry filling and was to die for....not the best thing for my weight loss, but it was a shower for us, so I had to eat some, right????
*The rest of our weekend was pretty uneventful. I am not complaining about that, just stating the facts.
*Ty Lawson was not back for the Wake game, but we won anyways. Not sure what the deal is with him. Roy says he has no idea when he will be back, which just really doesn't add up. I am beginning to question his "heart"...Anyways, GO HEELS...the countdown to the NCAA tournament continues....I am still too big to fit into my Hansbrough jersey without it looking like it is painted on...maybe come tournament time I can wear it again :)
* Thursday I have a dentist appointment (yuck) and a hair appointment (yeah!)...I need a new hairstyle, I think I may go WAY short again.
Here are pics from the baby shower and a few from the week:

How Bout Them Heels???

Just beat NC State at State...84 to 70!!!!! And Ty Lawson is supposed to be back for the Wake game, according to the announcers on TV!!!!!!! Ok, ok, I know State is not all that good this year, but hey, a win is a win and they are still NC State, one of our 2 biggest rivals (2nd only to despicable DOOK).....GO HEELS!!!! We only lost one game with Ty out and that was to Duke...we will get them on March 8th, I just know it!
Otherwise, not much going on here....Gabriel is sleeping in his swing, Cedric is on his way home from work, so I thought I'd do a little blogging...watched a good but weird movie today...The Number 23 with Jim Carey...and NO, it is not about Michael Jordan which is all I can think of when I hear 23, but of course I would love to watch a movie about him! It is a drama, not a comedy which is weird for me since Jim Carey is such the comedian typically (think Ace Ventura, Cable Guy, Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar etc--all movies I love, I must add)...Anyways,somehow this movie ended up in my Netflix choices and arrived in the mail, I swear I didn't pick it and Cedric says he didn't either...I had not even heard of it...but I watched it anyway and it was really pretty good...Again weird....but one of those that you just couldn't stop watching to see what the heck the end had in store..
Aunt Janie had her hip replacement surgery today and came through with flying colors...Mom is spending the night tonight and I am going to see her tomorrow morning..Cedric is off and can watch Baby G while I go.....
Alright, he is waking up (crying) so off I go to get him :) GOODNIGHT!

Valentine's Week
We had a great Valentine's Day! Cedric surprised us by having flowers, chocolates, cards and a stuffed animal for Gabriel out on the dining room table when we got up in the morning...He snuck them out there overnight! Tulips for me, my favorite! We took Gabriel to the doctor at 11:30, he got a great check-up...he is now 10 lbs, 13.5ounces, which the doctor was pleased by..guess he is getting enough to eat now! He had to get 1 shot, but he did great and only cried for a minute or so..I think it bothered me more than it did him! Next time though, he has to get a round of shots, I am dreading that doctor visit already!!!
That night, my parents baby-sat for us and Cedric and I hit the Olive Garden, one of our favorite spots, for dinner. It was delicious and it was nice to have some time to spend with just the 2 of us. We had some tasty drinks, an Italian Margarita for me, and a Strawberry Mango Margarita for Cedric, his was tastier than mine, I must admit!! I want to learn how to make those for summertime. Friday, we took Gabriel to get his picture made at Olan Mills...he did soooo good, he didn't even cry at all and survived through 2 outfit changes! He is a pro at getting his picture made, good thing, because we like to take a LOT of pictures!! The pictures are adorable..we get to pick them up on March 3rd. Sunday, mom and I took him to church for the 1st time and he was a little angel, he slept through most of the service! He is really becoming more alert and vocal. He can hold his head up by himself and likes to sit up instead of laying down. He also tries to stand up all the time when we hold him. I am thinking of getting one of those Bumbo seats for him to sit in. Anybody got one or have an opinion on them??? I tried not to buy all the gadgets, but we have ending up with almost everything. Least favorite of his things has been the bouncy seat...he really prefers the swing, I think b/c he sits up more in the swing.
The only problem we are having right now is that he does not like to sleep in his own bed. He will be completely asleep on me or Cedric and when we put him down, he is awake and crying in a few seconds or sometimes minutes. He LOVES to snuggle and also seems to not like sleeping on his back. I am ready for him to be able to roll over so that he can choose to sleep on his stomach. So for now, I am just doing all that I can to get him to sleep in his own bed. It is tough, b/c at four in the morning when he is crying, I just want to put him on me on the sofa and go to sleep! Not to mention that I LOVE snuggling with him too! And who can blame him for not wanting to sleep alone when Cedric, Rocky and me are all snuggling in the bed together??????
Let's see.....I am working on his baby book today...probably will try to take a nap this afternoon when he does, since we were up to 3 a.m. last night! Tomorrow my aunt Janie is having her hip replacement surgery, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She will be out of work for 6-8 weeks, so Gabriel and I plan on going to see her a lot when she gets home, I know he will be able to keep her spirits up!! Friday, we are headed to my school for a baby shower! It was supposed to be before Gabriel was born, but I ended up out of work on bedrest, so it was rescheduled. It will be fun to see everyone and I know everyone will be more excited to see him than me!!! Guess that's what happens when you are a momma :)

Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary! I can't believe we have been married for 2 years already!!!!! It has been a great 2 years, a lot has changed...We moved back to my hometown, and now we have a precious little baby boy! I look forward to everything that this next year holds for us. I love you baby!! We aren't really getting to celebrate tonight, because Cedric has to work until 9. I do have some champagne chilling and some goodies ready when he gets in from work to surprise him with...I also pulled out our wedding album and looked at all the beautiful pictures..it almost made me cry! We are going out to celebrate our anniversary/Valentine's Day on Thursday night, my mom and dad are babysitting Gabriel for us!

Finally Friday
I am still sad about the outcome of the game on Wednesday, but maybe we will beat Duke when we play them at Cameron....Hopefully we will have Ty Lawson back for the Clemson game on Sunday....Not to make excuses for us, but we were playing with our
3rd string point guard who is just awful (in my opinion).
I went to the doctor today and got a good report...I have lost 26 of the 38 pounds I gained while pregnant! I also can now start exercising lightly and after 2 more weeks can resume normal activity!
Zach and Nicole are moving into their house tomorrow. Here are a few pictures of it, it is beautiful!

Here is Gabriel in his new swing, he loves it!

Not sure what we are doing tonight, probably not too much of anything.....Our 2nd anniversary is Monday and Valentine's Day is Thursday...we are celebrating both on Thursday, because Cedric has to work on Monday from 10-9, yuck!

Countdown to the UNC/Duke Game!!!
Ok, I am stealing this bulleting idea from my pal Maryellen, I like the way she has been doing her blogs, so here goes my bullet list about the past week....
*It is Tuesday morning, and I am really getting nervous about the game tomorrow night...Ty Lawson is probably not going to play, and I am afraid that we will not be able to beat Duke without him...The game is at 9:00 and I can't wait to watch it.....I will be wearing my "Psycho T Fan Club tee shirt", hopefully that will bring us good luck!!
*Things here are good and we are starting to get into somewhat of a routine...Gabriel has been sleeping 5-6 hours at night, which is AMAZING to me! I have been getting some good rest and feeling great! I go back to the doctor on Friday, hopefully I will be able to start doing some light exercise like walking. I have lost weight and can't wait to see how much. I am SO glad to be un-pregnant! It was all worth it of course, but gosh, it feels good to feel like myself again!!!
*Today is my cousin Lucy's 19th birthday! We are going out to dinner to celebrate Thursday night with all the family!
*Gabriel had his first trip out to dinner Friday night to Lineberger's Steak Barn with me, Ceddy, mom and dad. He was so good! I had my first post-pregnancy beer (a Killian's Red--aka "Work of the Devil") and it was delicious!!!
* We watched the Super Bowl Sunday at my parents house, with Zach and Nicole and Martin and Lucy....Gabriel and Rocky slept through the entire thing! I was glad that the Giants won, just to stop the Patriots from going undefeated (sorry Maryellen, Brianne, and Jessie)
*Lucy and I took Gabriel on his first major outing yesterday...we went to see Aunt Janie at work and got to show Gabriel off to all the people at her office (the central office of the school system I work for)...We got to see lots of people I work with, which was also nice. Next we hit Babies R Us to take back a few things and purchase a Swing! Gabriel pretty much slept through the entire trip, but that made it very easy on us. I just finished putting the swing together and as soon as he wakes up, I am going to try it out with him. Pictures to follow!
* Aunt Cyndi is coming to visit us tomorrow and we are really looking forward to seeing her! She celebrated her 30th birthday on Friday and had a surprise party in Raleigh on Saturday night. We are so sad that we had to miss it, we just couldn't make the trip yet with baby Gabe. We will have to figure out a time to celebrate together, we can celebrate both our birthdays together, b/c I will be turning the big 3-0 on March 28th-yuck!
Alright, that is enough bullets I suppose! Pull the Heels through tomorrow night, it is gonna take a miracle :)
