Is it seriously already July 1st? Where the heck has the last month gone?? I haven't done a post since the wedding in May and that was over a month ago. The last 4-5 weeks or so have been a whirlwind. I will try to give you the highlights:
* Things have really come along on the house! We passed our final inspection on Monday and now have power and water. All the floors are finished. Now there are just a few more finishing touches, like shelving in the closets, shoe mold, and touch up painting...And cleaning, which we have already been working on. I have been packing boxes like crazy here and am going to start moving some things at the end of this week. Yippee, we are almost there and I cannot wait to spend our first night there!
* The Thursday before Father's Day, Laura, Travis, Miss Rhonda, Tyson, and Juel came to town for a wedding, so we go to have a little visit with them. It was so fun watching all the kiddos play together. Tyson and Elizabeth had a little bit of a budding romance going on, it was adorable to watch him help her, hold her hand, etc...It was so good to see them, I just wish we were closer so we could do it more often!
* The Saturday before Father's Day, we headed to KM to celebrate Cedric's Aunt Ioma's 90th birthday!! We had a blast and took all the kiddos to the splash pad after the party to cool off.
* We celebrated Father's Day with lunch at Zach and Nicole's. Ceddy got some new tee-shirts and a pair of Converse All-Stars like Gabriel's. So cute when they both wear them at the same time, I love my boys!
*The Monday after Father's Day, I had to travel to Raleigh for work. After an all day meeting on Monday, I got to spend the night with Laura. We had a blast catching up with a glass of wine while the kiddos slept!
*The week after Father's Day was also Vacation Bible School at our church. Nicole, Ceddy and I volunteered to help out and traveled around the stations with the group. Gabriel, Izzie and Jackson absolutley loved it and Wyatt got in on action some nights too. I think the grown-ups had as much fun as the kids did! By the end of the week, we were all worn out. The kids did a music program that Friday night to show off the songs they had learned, it was so cute! We are still singing those songs and doing the motions that go with them :) Elizabeth goes around trying to get everyone to sing one of the songs and gets mad if they don't know the song, hilarious!
* Cedric had his big nursing exam yesterday, this is the exam he has to complete to get his license and start to work. He studied each evening this week and feels very good about his performance...now it is just the waiting game for the results. He also had a job interview on Friday at the hospital where Nicole works and it looks like they are going to offer him a job!
* My work during the month of June has been very busy. I knew that I would be off a lot in July due to our beach trip and time off for moving, so I had to travel much more than usual to get ahead. I haven't heard any warnings about budget issues/cut-backs, etc., so I guess my job is safe for another year at least, thank goodness. I just keep hoping that things with the economy will turn around.
* We are looking forward to celebrating the 4th on Wednesday, then I am taking off Thursday to do work at the house. Then I am always off on Fridays, so that will make for a very long weekend! Then only one more week of work and we will head to the beach for a little fun in the sun!
