I was going through the CD and getting ready to print some pictures from our trip to Vermont in January over MLK Jr. Holiday, and I could not resist putting this one up for you guys to see...Yes, my three lovely best friends (Cynthia, Brianne, and Laura) and I really did drink an entire METRE of beer in Montreal! I am sure that doesn't surprise too many of you...No help from Jessie (Brianne's husband) either, he was our DD. It was great, when they brought it out to us at the bar, they ring a loud bell and the whole bar cheered for us....And, for the record, the beer is of a higher alcohol content in Canada...too bad it was so darn cold there or we should consider a move....Needless to say, we had a great trip up to Vermont....
We headed up on Thursday night and stayed up almost all night catching up with each other...and 4 bottles of wine..by the end of the evening, Brianne and I were busting out the Bacardi and orange juice! We spent the next day recovering and then visited with Jessie's mom, then hit a local Italian place in downtown St. Albans for dinner...After that we headed up to the Price Chopper (which incidentally is a great grocery store, despite the name!) to stock up on snacks and other necessities (beer and wine of course--we were on vacation!)....Saturday was our day in Montreal...we had a great time, visited the London Pub for a Lychee martini (a fruit that I didn't even know existed, but it was great and apparently is the new trend in martinis)... Our day ended with the Metre of beer at the 3 Brothers Brewery. You should of seen us trying to order off the menu, which was written in French! Jessie drove us back that night and luckily, we did make it through the border patrol!! Sunday, we hit the Cabot Cheese place, then headed to Burlington and watched the Patriots win their playoff game. Monday morning we woke up to a bunch of white stuff on the ground...our flights were delayed but we all made it back, some easier than others (sorry Laura)....All in all, it was an EXCELLENT trip!!! Brianne and Jessie, thanks for having us and letting us invade your home!!! Love you guys!!
